Petition: Save New Malden’s Fitness4Less swimming pool!
New Malden’s Fitness4Less on Blagdon Road is being acquired by PureGym, who currently operate gyms in Kingston and Sutton – as well as elsewhere in London.
Fitness4Less is currently home to one of the very few swimming pools in the borough – and has become a haven for gym users who look for a quieter space to swim following the demolition of the Kingfisher Leisure Centre by the Council.
However PureGym plan on closing off the pool within the New Malden gym, claiming that this means they can offer a ‘cheaper membership’ to users.
New Malden’s Independent Councillors – and local resident Deepa Veneik – are calling on PureGym and Fitness4Less to ensure that the pool remains open, and that Kingston borough does not lose yet another vital swimming pool.

Will the sauna be involved in staying as well? I can’t believe we have allowed PureGym to make this purchase. I will be making sure I spread the word that people refrain from signing on with them due to the removal of the pool and lovely staff at firness4 less. It’s infuriating. We have enough gyms in new Malden. We need pools, saunas, steam rooms.
